Evanston Subaru Supports Arctic Row

Arctic Row thanks Ray Eichenlaub (pictured at right) and his colleagues at Evanston Subaru. Thanks to Ray, there’s a flash new vehicle on the lot at Evanston Subaru (the #1 Subaru dealer in Illinois in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011). For the next 2 months the Arctic Rowboat will be in the Subaru parking lot being retrofit for Arctic travel. This boat will be the first boat to row across the Arctic Ocean.

Car shoppers and mechanics are expectantly curious. In addition to buying a sweet, new car they’re stopping by to watch and help Arctic Rowers (Scott Mortensen, Paul Ridley, Collin West and Neal Mueller) retrofit this ocean rowboat for the July departure.

In case you didn’t know, Subaru has a long legacy of eco-minded adventure. The Impreza Team is the winningest car in rally history, and the Suburu manufacturing plant in Indiana achieved zero-landfill production designation before it was trendy to do so.

Arctic Tow Is Done

The Arctic Tow team (Collin West and Paul Ridley) have arrived safely in Evanston, Illinois.

For the next 2 months the Arctic Rowboat will undergo hardening and retrofitting for it’s July journey across the Arctic Ocean.
